Help us get Tanukonomy ready for everyone.
Before its public release on Google Play, Tanukonomy needs real users to test it for at least 14 consecutive days, with at least 12 testers — that’s Google’s own requirement, not ours. If you use Android and want to get your money in order, we’d love to have you.
What you need
- An Android phone running 6.0 or newer
- One Google account, used consistently to join the group, open the testing link, and stay active in the Play Store app
- Willingness to use the app for 14 consecutive days

Steps
Sign-up links are being prepared. Bookmark this page and check back shortly.
- Opening soon
Join the tester group
Open the group link and join, using the same Google account that’s active in your Play Store app. Joining this group is what makes Google recognize your account as a tester — without it, the link in step 2 won’t work for you.
- Opening soon
Open the testing link and tap “Become a tester”
Still on the same phone and account, open the testing link and tap “Become a tester”. Google needs time to process it — usually a few minutes, sometimes a few hours. Once active, the same link will show a button to open the Play Store.
Install it from the Play Store app
Search “Tanukonomy” in your phone’s Play Store app (not a regular Google search), or tap the button that appears on the testing link. If it’s not showing yet, give it a bit more time — that’s normal, see the troubleshooting section below.
Use it for 14 consecutive days
Create your first wallet and record transactions as you normally would. Keep the app installed and use it now and then over 14 days — opting out partway through resets the count.
What we ask
Stay for 14 days
Google requires testers to stay opted in for 14 consecutive days before an app can go public.
Record as usual
No need to log every hour. Just record your daily transactions as you would without the beta.
Tell us what confused you
The best feedback is the small stuff: a hard-to-find button, an unclear word, a number that feels off.
Send feedback to halo@tanukonomy.app or through the tester feedback box on the Play Store page.
Joining the beta doesn’t send your financial data to us. Your records stay on your phone as always.
Issues you might run into
I tapped “Become a tester” but the app isn’t showing up on the Play Store
This is the most common thing that happens, and it usually isn’t a sign anything is wrong. Google needs time to process a new tester status — give it a few hours (rarely up to a full day). Reopen the testing link to confirm your status is active, then look for the app in your phone’s Play Store app, not a regular web search.
I see “This app isn’t available for your account”
This almost always means the Google account currently active in your Play Store app is different from the one you used to join the group and tap “Become a tester”. Open the Play Store, tap your profile photo in the top right, switch to the right account, then repeat step 2.
My phone has more than one Google account
Make sure the same Google account is used in all three places: joining the tester group, opening the testing link, and being the active account in the Play Store app. If any one of them is a different account, Google won’t recognize you as a tester.
“Your device isn’t compatible with this version”
Tanukonomy needs Android 6.0 or newer. If your phone is older than that, you can’t join this beta yet — let us know by email so we know there’s interest from older devices.
I accidentally left the testing program
Reopen the testing link and tap “Become a tester” again to rejoin. The 14-day count restarts from when you rejoin, so try not to opt in and out repeatedly.
It’s been 14 days and the app still hasn’t gone public
14 days and 12 testers are Google’s minimum requirements, not a guaranteed release date. We may still be reviewing feedback or finishing other things before the public release. The app keeps working as usual for you throughout the beta.
App updates aren’t showing up
Updates for testers can take longer to arrive than a public release. Try opening the Play Store, tapping your profile photo, “Manage apps & device”, and checking for updates manually there.
